Morris Island Tour
The historic Morris Island Lighthouse is situated on a small, uninhabited barrier island off the coast of Charleston, SC accessible only by boat. On the ride to the Island, the captain (a naturalist) finds some wild dolphins and explains about their behaviors. He also explains the local ecosystem. On the island, the families get to spend an hour exploring the remote island.
The calm creeks and marshes behind Folly Beach are home to more than 300 residential wild Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. The Charleton area’s healthy salt marsh systems make an ideal home for these charismatic animals. The captain gets a close but respectful distance from the dolphins and explains their behaviors, including feeding and playing.
